Luc Desjardins, Operating Partner

Luc joined Sterling in 2008, and has been associated with Sterling since 1995 as a result of Mail-Well’s acquisition of Supremex Envelope, an envelope manufacturer where he was the Chief Executive Officer. After the acquisition, he was promoted within Mail-Well to the Head of the Envelope Division. Luc left Mail-Well in 2000 to become President and Chief Operating Officer of Transcontinental, the largest printer in Canada and sixth-largest in North America. He was promoted to Chief Executive Officer in 2004 and retired from the company in February 2008. Through continued company growth and significant increase in operating margins, Transcontinental’s market capitalization rose from C$650 million to C$1.8 billion during his tenure. In addition, Luc serves as Executive Chairman of Roofing Supply Group and previously was on the board of Exopack from 2001 to 2005. Early in his career he held senior management positions in several established corporations, including Culinar, Wabasso Canada and Dominion Textile. Luc received an M.B.A. from the Université du Québec à Montréal and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Management Development Program.
