John D. Hawkins, Partner

John joined Sterling in 1992. He is responsible for sourcing and executing acquisitions and the oversight of portfolio companies. Mr. Hawkins currently serves on the boards of Saxco International, B&G Crane, Velcon Filters and North American Energy Partners and was previously on the board of BTEC Turbines and Exopack. In addition, he participates in the structuring and financing of many of the Sterling portfolio companies. Mr. Hawkins was previously on the professional staff of Arthur Andersen & Co. Mr. Hawkins received a B.S.B.A. in accounting from the University of Tennessee and an M.B.A. with honors from the Owen Graduate School of Management at Vanderbilt University.
