Gary has been associated with Sterling since 1987 in various capacities, and rejoining Sterling in 2004. He is active in deal generation and consummation as well as strategy for, and operational improvement of, Sterling portfolio companies. Gary has been a lead Partner on CST Industries and BTEC Turbines and was on the board of Hudson Products.
Gary previously served as the active Chairman of the Board of HydroChem Industrial Services, Chief Executive Officer of AXIA, and Senior Vice President of Cain Chemical, all prior Sterling investments, as well as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of publicly held Wheatley TXT Corp. He was a Partner at Sterling in the early 1990s and before that a Partner with the law firm of Vinson & Elkins. Gary is a magna cum laude graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School and was a Charles Henry Fiske Scholar at Trinity College, Cambridge University.
